FAQ
Where is my bag preorder?
The bags take a long time to produce! I don't rush my manufacturer or give them any deadlines to ensure that I am not contributing to an exploitative work model. You'll recieve updates in your email when I have them for you, including production photos or any timelines they give me. It is a long wait time, but trust that your bag is being made with care! You will recieve a shipping notification when I have packed and shipped your order from my end.
For those interested, the production pipeline works like this:
- I place an order for the bags
- The manufacturer calculates how much individual material they need (fabric, metal clasps, zippers, etc) and purchases the right amount from their suppliers
- They wait until it's all delivered to them
- They start working on the sides of the bags individually (the front panels need printed text and a clear window sewn in, the back panels need an embossed Skaia stamp, etc)
- Once every piece of every bag is individually done, they sew them all together (and this process is not as automated as you think!)
- Once every bag is done, they are all individually packed up and shipped to me in huge crates. Shipping takes a month by itself!
- Then, it's my job to pack and ship every individual order out to you! It's nothing compared to what the manufacturer does. Let's all give them the patience they deserve!
When will (color) be coming back/will you bring back certain colors/will you make (color I havent made yet)?
Pink and purple will likely have consistent reruns due to demand. My minimum order quantity is 100 bags per bulk order, so any other pair of colors would have to build up enough demand for me to be able to do preorder runs of them. If you want a specific color to come back or to be considered for a future preorder, tell me!
The zipper on my bag broke!
The first run of pink and purple, featuring the zipper on the top and front panel, had some manufacturing faults that made it so the zipper stitching was very weak. I did not have this issue with my personal samples, so I didn't know it would be a problem until the bulk order went out to all of you. The new design of the bags features a magnetic front flap that swings open instead, and a much stronger zipper to access the display window. I deeply apologize if your bag has broken while you've used it :( My hope was that you wouldn't ever have to buy another one, unless you wanted another color, because the bag would be strong enough to handle gentle wear and tear. The new model should accomplish this, and all future bags will be made with this magnetic flap instead.
Will you be doing captchalogue card shaped wallets?
Wallets are 200 at minimum, per color, vs the 100 minimum split by two colors of the bags. This is a really high number, so I'll only be able to do orders of wallets if the demand grows high enough. I have already designed them, and I have personal samples.
A NOTE ABOUT RESELLERS
I've seen a few resold bags on secondhand websites like Mercari being sold for double and triple the price I sell them for. This is fucked up and I don't appreciate this, mostly because you don't need to be paying that much!! If you are desperate for a bag, please do let me know so I can more accurately make plans to open further preorders! My goal with these is that everyone who wants one will get one eventually. Do not contribute to the insane market of upcharged secondhand Homestuck merch by throwing my fan merch in the mix LMAO
